Work Experience

  • Software Development Intern / Reactive Robotics / March 2019 – present

    As part of the software development team, I am in charge of writing a communication library to log measurement data from a physical therapy robot.This includes analyzing the requirements for a logging framework both from the physical and data science perspective, implementing an easy-to-use API and integrating the results into the legacy code. Here, I not only improve on my Python skills but also learn about agile project managing, robust software development cycles and the processes and regulations of creating a medical device.

  • Working Student / Fraunhofer Institute for Embedded Systems and Communication Technologies / Oct. 2017 – Mach 2019

    At the Institute, I implement machine learning algorithms using Python for Car2X-Communication for advanced vehicular communication strategies. This includes analyzing a large amount of multidimensional data, preparing this data for machine learning algorithms, interpret the output of said algorithms and of course, implement those algorithms using Python.

  • Reasearch Assistent / Human Brain Project / Jan. 2016 – Sep. 2017

    My job at the chair of robotics and embedded systems (Department of Computer Science) consists of conducting research in the fields of neurorobotics, brain inspired robotics and machine consciousness. It also includes monitoring publications about the Human Brain Project in the media.

  • Internship / Neuroeletronics Group, TUM / Aug. 2016 – Apr. 2018

    The aim of my internship is to characterize the electric properties of PEDOT:PSS, a conductive polymer. I designed and printed test structures, using a capillary microplotter system. This included optimizing the printing process to fit PEDOT:PSS and interpreting the experiment results using MatLab. In addition, I am developing a process to improve the conductivity of said structures.

  • Managing Director / Bohlale Computer School / Jun. 2013 – present

    Together with two local students I founded and build a computer school in the rural areas of Lebowakgomo. This included creating a business plan, renting property, managing advertisement, teaching classes and applying for government funds. Today, my work mostly consists of advising the board of directors. In 2016, we helped 83 adults and 25 kids in gaining fundamental knowledge about computers

  • Trainer, AFS eV, Nov. 2014 – present

    After finishing my own year abroad with AFS, I decided to stay involved by conducting multiple seminars to prepare other young adults for their experience. Those workshops last two weeks and focus on intercultural communication, development aid and social skills in general. In the last fife years, I conducted 9 workshops and trained about 250 peoples.

  • Executive Committee/ AFS eV / Nov 2018 – present

    In addition as a seminar facilitator, I am currently serving as a member of the „Committee for task managing, representation, initiative and organization“ for the volunteering branch of the AFS. As this, I represent the over 600 volunteers who run the organization, organize the two general meeting each year and work on the most urgent issues of the organization. I also cooperate with the other branches of the AFS (student exchange and short-term programmes) and the full-time employees.

  • Think Digital Scholar / IBC Munich / 2018-2019

    I am part of the first class of the Think Digital Scholarship to support students to become ready for the challenges of the age digitalization. The scholarship includes workshops and trainings at IBM and Google, a mentoring program with executives in the industry and financial aid for learning resources.

  • IFJD / AFS, Ntseekgopu Primary School / Apr. 2013 – Mar. 2014

    For one year, I have assisted the math and science teacher in grades four and five in a rural township school in South Africa. This included preparation of class hours, mark exams but also hold my own lessons in front of 40 kids.

  • Adveisor / TUM / Oct. 2014 – Jun. 2015

    During my first two semesters at TUM I participated in the soft skill program adveisor. Our task was to create an autonomous model car, while my personal task as team manager was to organize our project. I made sure that we kept to our schedule and handled the communication. I also hold the final presentation infront of about 200 people, including multiple professors and members of the industry. Our team finished second out of seven teams.
